Making impact within a scale-up from a HR perspective

Daphne made the switch to Workspace 365 in June 2021. After working for over five years as a Recruiter at YoungCapital, she swapped her bike, for a car. Nijkerk was her new base, where she was responsible for a combination of recruitment and HR work.

Personal Development

"I could always cycle to work. So was I now going to buy a car and quadruple my travel time. YES, that's what I was going to do! My intuition spoke very quickly. The people within Workspace 365, the energy, were the deciding factor. But, of course, the expansion of my HR work was also very important. I was really allowed to develop myself further here in a direction that matched my master's."

Daphne has made the role of Talent Partner her own in recent years. "It really was a rollercoaster. I started with Recruitment and HR, where I quickly noticed a big difference between recruitment on the agency side and here. Here, I learned to go even deeper in conversations. I picked up various HR issues. Not much had been set up on the HR side yet, so I had a lot of freedom to set it up by myself."

From start-up to scale-up

And in the meantime, great successes have been made. "I am proud of the results so far. I have really been able to make an impact and that is satisfying. For instance, I have created manuals, new core values have been developed, we work with personal development interviews and our HR system has been implemented. That makes working a lot easier for me, but also for my colleagues."

Within Workspace 365, not everything is set in stone. "If everything is fixed in rules and policies, that doesn't suit me. I assume trust in my role. In myself, but also in my colleagues. That is possible if you stand for freedom and responsibility. That is also the vision we want to pursue as Workspace 365. This is how we try to take our colleagues and the organisation to the next level. It's really cool to be able to actively contribute to that from HR."

Teambuilding

Teambuilding is an important element for connection and trust. "Within the organisation, we pay a lot of attention to connection. For me, that is really different from other organisations. It doesn't always have to be very big things. As long as there is attention for each other. Think off speed dates with (remote) colleagues, get-togethers, sports activities and eating together. Workspace 365 is a relatively small but close club with ambitious people. This is just the beginning...."
