Imagine, you study International Business & Management Studies, work in the hospitality industry alongside your studies and actually want to enter the business world. But how? You have no experience, lots of motivation and you are eager to learn. This is how Joelle's story began at Workspace 365. Meanwhile, she has enjoyed working in the Talent team since November 2021.
At Workspace 365, we look at your talents and motivation. "I was initially approached for a commercial position at Workspace 365. After the first interview, we came to the conclusion together that that wasn't for me. But, there was immediate consideration. In fact, there was also a position available within the Talent team. There they saw a better fit. We then discussed this further together. I can really appreciate that an organisation thinks along and looks at what suits me. I am completely in my place."
From the catering industry to the business world. That takes some switching. "I was very afraid I would miss the culture from the hospitality industry. There, I was used to really working together and ending the day with a drink. I didn't really know what it would be like at the office. After just the first week, I noticed that it's exactly the same within Workspace 365. I never would have dared to dream that I would gain some really great friendships on a private level. I can laugh immensely in the office, for example when I see that once again colleagues are planking to "just train the abs", after a company update everyone goes laser gaming or the funny weekend stories at the lunch table."
Working in a scale-up means a lot of dynamism and adapting quickly. "The past year has seen a lot of changes. We went from having lots of new colleagues, to stepping back to focus more on existing colleagues. We went from a focus on America, to a focus on NL & UK. You sometimes see the growing pains of the organisation, but I wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the phases. I love short sprints and getting results with them. I am proud when a new colleague starts or people are enthusiastic about the onboarding, for example. I have learned an awful lot. There is time and space to make mistakes and you are allowed to work a bit outside the lines. When necessary, you are held up to a mirror and get feedback. Besides my recruitment tasks, I can also take on other projects. For instance, I organise many activities within the organisation and I am responsible for social media from the Talent team. All these things together have allowed me to develop both professionally and personally. Workspace 365 provides the kick-start to my career!"
